Android ↔ Mac

Send files between Android and Mac

Send photos, downloads and documents between Android and macOS without wrestling with cables, Bluetooth pairing or a permanent cloud folder.

The short answer: Open Sendaway in a browser on Android or Mac, choose the files, and use the resulting 6-digit code on the other device. It works in both directions without an Android file-transfer utility, shared account or USB setup.

Three steps

1

Pick what you want to move

Choose one file or a bundle from your Android phone or Mac.

2

Create a temporary transfer

Sendaway encrypts the transfer and produces a simple 6-digit code.

3

Enter the code

Use the code on the other device to retrieve the files before they expire.

Why Sendaway

Browser to browser

There is no Android companion app to install and no macOS utility to keep running.

Bundles stay together

Send multiple files in one transfer instead of repeating the process for every photo or document.

Device-to-device option

When both devices are online together, Local Transfer can move the encrypted file without cloud file storage.

Troubleshooting

Android opens the wrong file picker

Choose Files or your preferred media provider from the Android picker, then select the original item.

The Mac blocks the download

Check the browser download indicator and allow downloads from sendaway.co.

Local Transfer will not connect

Keep both pages open. If a direct route is unavailable, Sendaway can fall back to an encrypted relay.

Limits and availability: Free cloud sends support up to 500 MB. Paid cloud options support up to 10 GB or 50 GB, while Local Transfer limits vary by plan and connection route.

Common questions

Do I need a USB cable?

No. Both devices use their web browsers, so the transfer does not depend on a cable or Android file-transfer utility.

Can a Mac send files back to Android?

Yes. Sendaway works in both directions; the device that has the files creates the code.

Do the devices need to share a network?

Cloud transfers do not. Local Transfer connects the devices in real time and can use an encrypted relay when a direct connection is unavailable.
