Send large files without email

When an attachment is too large—or simply does not belong in an inbox—make it a temporary transfer instead.

Start this transfer →

The short answer: Sendaway replaces the email attachment with a temporary transfer: choose the large file, create a 6-digit pickup code, and give the code to the recipient. Free cloud sends support 500 MB, with paid one-time options up to 10 GB or 50 GB.

Three steps

1

Select the large file

Choose the file or bundle in Sendaway instead of attaching it to an email.

2

Choose the right transfer

Use encrypted cloud pickup for different times and locations, or Local Transfer when both devices are online together.

3

Share only the code

The recipient enters the temporary code and downloads the file from Sendaway.

Why Sendaway

Keep inboxes out of it

The file is not duplicated into sent mail, forwarded threads and long-lived email storage.

Paid options up to 50 GB

Choose a 10 GB One-Time Send or a 50 GB Mega Send when the free tier is not enough.

No-storage local transfers

Local Transfer moves encrypted data between devices without storing the file in Sendaway cloud storage.

Troubleshooting

A large upload appears stuck

Keep the tab open, disable battery-saving restrictions and check whether the browser is still transmitting data.

The browser runs out of space

Large transfers may require temporary browser or disk capacity. Free space before retrying.

The recipient has a slow download

Transfer time is limited by the slower network connection. Keep the page open until saving completes.

Limits and availability: Free cloud sends support 500 MB. A One-Time Send supports up to 10 GB and a Mega Send supports up to 50 GB. Cloud transfers expire after pickup or 24 hours.

Common questions

What is Sendaway's free file limit?

The current free cloud tier accepts files up to 500 MB. Larger paid cloud transfers and Local Transfer are available from the transfer screen.

Can I send a 10 GB file?

Yes. Sendaway offers a 10 GB cloud-transfer option. Actual completion time depends mainly on the sender's upload speed and the recipient's download speed.

Can I send a file larger than 10 GB?

Yes. A Mega Send supports one cloud transfer up to 50 GB. Very large transfers require a stable connection and enough time on both devices.

Does the recipient need an account?

No. They retrieve the transfer using its code and any optional passcode you set.
